Embark on a Journey of Discovery to Saudi Saudi Tourism Authority launches Destination Marketing Campaign 沙特,寻秘启程 沙特旅游局启动目的地旅游宣传活动

CHINA, 20 November 2023: Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) recently launched its first consumer marketing campaign in China 沙特,寻秘启程 at the Shanghai Bund Waterfront, attended by Mr. Jin Lei, Deputy Director General of the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism, Mr. Alhasan Aldabbagh, President of APAC Markets and Mr. Choon Quek, Chief Technology Officer at the Saudi Tourism Authority, inviting the Chinese public to explore the rich and diverse tourism offerings of Saudi. The campaign is the biggest integrated travel campaign launched by Saudi in China, starting with a week-long Saudi Souk Festival, a celebration of the Saudi’s culture, heritage, and natural beauty on the Shanghai Bund waterfront, from 17 to 23 November, inviting guests to experience mystical Saudi through immersive experiences, storytelling and live performances. So far, the festival has welcomed over 13,000 visitors.  At the same time, in addition to the consumer marketing campaign, a series of Saudi experience films are launched on national TV and all major digital China platforms such as Ctrip, Huawei, Mafengwo and Tencent, reaching and connecting with hundreds of millions of Chinese citizens.  The films showcase the rich experiences Chinese travelers can look forward to when they are in Saudi, and is available on VisitSaudi.CN website and STA’s social media including the how-to videos to inspire and guide travelers on their future trips to Saudi. 

中国–2023年11月20日:沙特旅游局近日以“沙特,寻秘启程”为主题,启动在中国的盛大目的地旅游宣传活动。上海市文化和旅游局副局长金雷与沙特旅游局亚太市场总裁Alhasan Aldabbagh出席了活动。该活动旨在吸引中国旅客前往沙特,探索其丰富多元的旅游资源。此次宣传活动是迄今为止,沙特在中国举办的最盛大的宣传活动,包含设立在上海、为期一周(11月17日-23日)的沙特传统露天市集。该露天市集将通过沉浸式体验、引人入胜的故事和现场表演等形式,展现沙特的文化、传统与自然美景。截至至19日,沙特露天市集已吸引了逾13000人次到场体验。与此同时,一系列详细介绍沙特地理、人文内容的影片将登上电视频道及中国主流互联网平台如携程、华为、马蜂窝和腾讯,直达国内超过数亿旅行者。沙特中文版旅游官网VisitSaudi.CN和沙特旅游局的社交媒体平台亦将陆续上线普及当地旅游知识的短视频,为旅行者们们的沙特之行提供启发和指引。

Starting from November 17, with the launch of destination experience videos, digital travelers will be able to visit a traditional Bedouin tent complete with camel caravans and stargazing; tour the historic Diriyah, Al Masmak Fortress and colorful Souk Al Zel; learn to create Arabian fragrances; fly over AlUla in a hot-air balloon; go on a cross-country adventure in a vintage Land Rover; and snorkel in the Red Sea.

从11月17日开始,一系列目的地体验影片将陆续发布。有兴趣的公众可线上云参观贝都因人传统的帐篷,看骆驼队穿越无垠沙漠,观赏沙漠上的浩瀚星空,或者游览历史悠久的德拉伊耶、马斯马克堡和色彩斑斓的阿扎勒露天市集,又或者学习制作沙特香水,乘坐热气球飞越埃尔奥拉,驾驶古董路虎越野车探险,以及在红海中享受浮潜的乐趣,等等。

Additionally, how-to tutorials in Mandarin will share about cultural tips, understanding common gestures, wearing traditional Saudi attire, how to get internet connection at the airport and more. These videos aim to help Chinese tourists unfamiliar with the region plan their trips to Saudi with ease and confidence.

此外,介绍当地旅游知识的中文版短视频,将介绍沙特的文化、常见手势与动作的含义、传统沙特服装穿着方式,以及如何在机场连接互联网等等。这些短视频旨在帮助中国旅客快速了解当地情况,让他们自信满满、轻松无忧地踏上游览沙特的旅程。

The destination campaign launched successfully on November 17 along Shanghai’s famous waterfront with a dazzling light show and the opening of a traditional Saudi Souk Festival where visitors can enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes of Saudi culture. In addition to the souk offering traditional clothing and accessories, the market also showcases the natural and historical attractions of Saudi through cultural shows and entertainment along The Bund, including performances from actors in traditional attire and Bedouin storytellers.

此次目的地旅游宣传活动已于11月17日在上海外滩成功启动,包含迷人的灯光秀和沙特传统露天市集,访客可以通过缤纷的声色光影与味觉体验来感受沙特的文化。露天市集不仅提供沙特传统的服装和配饰,外滩沿边亦安排了一系列文化表演和娱乐活动,以此介绍沙特的自然与历史景点,包括身着传统服装的演员演出节目,以及专人讲述贝都因人的故事。

Visitors can also sample dates and coffee from different regions of Saudi and learn about its historical and cultural significance. Meanwhile, the immersive Valley Experience, designed to engage all five senses, takes guests through the country’s rich past, vibrant present, and exciting future.
